vita

Heike studied geosciences at the University of Trier and started her professional career as a research assistant in a geologic engineering company in Koblenz, Germany.

Since 2002, she has been working in regulatory affairs under various legislation: First she worked for a consulting company in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, where she focused on the environmental risk assessment of biocides in the context of approval and authorisation procedures. In addition to preparing several Emission Scenario Documents (ESD) for the German Federal Environment Agency (PT2, PT3, PT4), she was also responsible for the revision of the OECD ESD for wood preservatives (PT8) on behalf of the JRC. In addition, she provided regulatory support for the authorisation of plant protection products, prepared CSAs/CSRs for substances under REACH and environmental risk assessments for medical devices.

From 2012 to 2022, Heike worked at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki, Finland. In the first years she supported the implementation of the BPR, developed workflows and guidance for biocide authorisation. From 2014 onwards, she successfully led first the BPC Environment Working Group (ENV WG) and later also the Ad hoc Working Group on Environmental Exposure (AHEE). She has also been involved in several IT projects and worked until recently on the Chesar platform.

Since the beginning of 2024, she has worked for Dr Brill Regulatory Services GmbH, an independent consultancy specialising in the authorisation of biocidal products and issues relating to medical devices.
